Fantastic day for the lankans.They started the day with early strikes in the 1st hour before mahmudullah shepherded Bangladesh past the 500-run mark.Still,the visitors felt that they haddone decently,considering that the score was 374/4 at stumps pn the 1st day.However,losing karunaratne was a jolt for them but that was to be their only casualty of the day.Dhananjaya de silva produced a fav repostethat was studded with counter-attacking batsmanship to getto his 4th test ton,second in succession.De silva found an able partner in kushal mendis who after a shaky start,started growing in confidence by playing a lot of shots.The latters dropped chance early in his innings did prove costly for Bangladesh who were sent on a leather hunt ever since.

The track did have the old ball turning but the general slowness proved to be the batsman's ally.Both batsman thrived on it along slightly indisciolined Bangladeshi bowling and feilding to ensure that the day ended on a good note for the visitors.From the matches point of view,Bangladesh still have runs on the boardand will hope that one wicket can bring two or three quickly.The surface is yet to do anything out of the ordinary but disciplined bowling can perhapsreap some rewards.Srilanka will hope that this pair can continue for longer so that the middle-order can capitalize.Thats it for today.All the best for well playing teams..
